Thanks to collaborative efforts and public-private dialogue, the Creative Industries Park is set to launch in the Kyrgyz Republic.
On December 6, 2023, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic/Chairman of the Investment Council, Akylbek Japarov, signed a decree addressing certain matters in the sphere of the Creative Industries Park. This document approves the list of activities within the Creative Industries Park eligible for the corresponding regime.
This decree marks a significant step in the development of creative business, the creative economy, and the enhancement of the creative industries' ecosystem in the country.
According to the decree, the powers of the Park's Supervisory Board are expanded by granting the board the right to individually determine the creativity of each applicant seeking residency status in the Creative Industries Park.
Thus, the Supervisory Board will meticulously review each residency application, making decisions on granting or denying residency status. This empowers the Park to autonomously, objectively, and impartially make decisions, including conducting a detailed analysis of the candidate's activities to prevent tax evasion and other obligatory payments.
The Supervisory Board consists of two representatives from the Cabinet of Ministers and five members from the private sector (creative sector entrepreneurial associations), showcasing the government's full trust in the private sector for making crucial decisions in developing the creative industry.
The Secretariat of the Investment Council is always open to providing its platform for dialogue and will continue its efforts to enhance the business environment in the country.
