On September 29, experts from the Secretariat took part in a roundtable dedicated to discussing current issues and prospects for the development of the tourism sector of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The purpose of the event was to develop joint proposals aimed at advancing tourism as one of the priority drivers of the country’s socio-economic growth.
The agenda included discussions on:
 • the need to update the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Tourism”;
 • potential mechanisms for the introduction of tourist fees;
 • insurance-related issues in the tourism sector;
 • development of an effective marketing strategy to promote the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic;
 • the country’s participation in international tourism exhibitions;
 • preparations for the World Nomad Games 2026.
Experts emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue between the state and the business community, as well as the need to take into account climate challenges and inclusivity principles when shaping tourism policy.
It was particularly noted that the active involvement of the private sector in decision-making is critical, as private businesses are the main driver of industry development.
The Secretariat of the Council, in turn, confirmed its readiness to:
 • provide a platform for consultative meetings within the framework of inter-agency cooperation;
 • support processes aimed at improving the regulatory and legal framework;
 • contribute to the development of concrete measures for the sustainable growth of the tourism sector.
